Cinematic Cultural Film

<to THE mountain>

A short cinematic documentary capturing the Buddhist pilgrimage road to Mount Kailash - in Tibet, China - the one and only holy mountain in Buddhism. Known for its high altitude (4800m-5650m), extreme harsh conditions (the road spans 52km), and physical demands, this sacred route pushes people to their limits, testing faith, belief, and human endurance. Among all people who come, Tibetan pilgrims complete this journey not by walking, but by performing full-body prostrations (kowtow) every 3-4 steps, slowly making their way along this tough and rugged path, days, sometimes months to do this again and again. I wanted to document not only the difficulty of the journey, but also the quiet strength, devotion, and deeply moving spirit of those who choose to walk it.
